Drawing From A Holster

Writer's picture: Mike PettengillMike Pettengill

Here is how to draw from the holster. Simultaneously, your support hand drives to your belly button and your firing hand lifts up and drives down onto the tang of the firearm. With your support hand firmly planted at or on your belly button, your firing hand lifts the gun straight up and out of the holster. Once the gun has cleared the holster you turn the gun 90 degrees to face your adversary. You are then going to drive your gun straight towards your adversary, as if you are going to punch him in the sternum with the muzzle of your gun. As you are presenting the gun forward your support hand slides over and makes the perfect two-handed grip. You present your gun to your eye and do not move your head. Place your finger on the trigger as you are presenting the gun.
