How to Become a CA CCW Instructor

To become a CCW instructor in California, you must become a certified California DOJ CCW instructor. You must first have one of five instructor certifications required by the California Department of Justice. Those include BSIS instructor, California POST instructor, several NRA instructors, and several other options. You must have a valid certificate of eligibility (COE) from the California Department of Justice. And you must pass a shooting qualification administered by an instructor from one of eight categories. After you have filled out the California DOJ CCW instructor application you include copies of all the appropriate documentation and send it in to the California Department of justice. There is no fee.
