Never point a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy. Don't point a gun at your new big screen TV, or anything of value. Don't point a gun at the family pet, or a family member, or yourself. Point any weapon at a wall, preferably a ballistic wall. Alternatively, if you are on the first floor of a building you can point it at the floor. It doesn't matter if you are "certain" the weapon is unloaded, you always point it in a safe direction. Don't point a weapon at your hand, your foot, or your leg or those of anyone else. Never point a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
