The El Presidente shooting drill was created by the late Jeff Cooper, founder of Gun Site Academy in Arizona. It was founded while Cooper was training security in South Africa. The drill incorporates many skills needed in self-defense; draw, movement, engaging multiple targets and reloads. It has been adopted as a standard for competitive shooters, making it one of the most popular drills for pistol practitioners.
