Two-Handed Grip

Writer's picture: Mike PettengillMike Pettengill

Here is how you acquire a perfect two-handed grip for shooting a handgun. You place the webbing of your firing hand, between your thumb and index finger, high up on the tang or back portion of the handgun. Your firing side fingers are together, and your middle finger is up against the trigger guard. Your support side hand is up against your firing side hand. Your support side fingers are closed, and your support side index finger is up against the trigger guard. Your support side fingers overlap your firing side fingers and both thumbs point towards the bad guy. Your support side hand is placed firmly against your firing side hand to ensure there are no gaps or spacing between hands. Gripping the gun tightly between both hands will substantially muzzle flip and recoil.
